Godzilla vs. Kong has finally been released after being postponed from May 29, 2020 to March 13, 2020, November 20, 2020, and ultimately May 21, 2021. On March 31, 2021, it will be released in the United States. The film was also accessible on HBO Max until April 30, 2021.

The fear of dying himself in an anti-gravity zone makes Nathan apprehensive to visit the Hollow Earth with his brother. After Walter discloses that Apex has built and developed Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles, specialized vehicles that can survive the gravity field's pressure, he finally decides to cooperate.

The Titan attacks the soldiers before capizing the barge and almost drowning Kong and the others on board. Finally, Nathan releases Kong's bindings, allowing him to fight Godzilla under the surface long enough to swim up to the surface and overturn the barge, saving the passengers from drowning. Then Godzilla leaps onto a nearby aircraft carrier to face Kong. Fighter planes successfully distract Godzilla before Kong can force Godzilla back into the ocean. Kong rushes off the carrier to dodge the atomic explosion, but Godzilla wraps his tail around him and drags him into the ocean, attempting to drown the Titan.

However, when Godzilla is stunned by depth charges, the combat is split up, allowing Kong to surface for air and re-engage the fight.

Nathan, seeing no other choice, determines that the crew should instead shut off all of the ships' power in order to fool Godzilla into believing that he has destroyed them and Kong has been beaten, which they finally succeed in doing. Godzilla looks about at the shattered fleet with a puzzled expression on his face and then swims away, certain that he has triumphed. As a result of realizing that Godzilla may resurface if the ships are reactivated, the survivors adjust their plans and instead fly Kong to a Hollow Earth entrance point in Antarctica, the location where Ghidorah was first frozen. Following that, Kong and Nathan's squad begin their quest, finally arriving at a massive stone temple that previously belonged to Kong's forefathers. They discover remnants of an old fight between Kong's and Godzilla's races as they investigate within, and Kong discovers an antique axe crafted from a dorsal plate of a dead member of Godzilla's race before sitting atop a colossal throne. Kong discovers that the same power source that Nathan's crew needs to enhance Mechagodzilla's power supply can also replenish the axe. Despite Ilene's protests that Apex cannot just grab the discovery of the century, Maia and the Apex crew employ spider-like drones to collect the power source and return it to their Hong Kong headquarters. Maia orders her guards to fire at Nathan's crew, only for Kong to aggressively yell at them in response. Meanwhile, Mechagodzilla sends a signal to Godzilla, who detects the machine's activation and rushes towards Hong Kong.

Godzilla makes his way into the heart of the city and, upon detecting Kong's presence in the Hollow Earth, uses his atomic breath to dig a hole through the environment, causing the temple to collapse. When a flock of Hellhawks attacks, Kong and Nathan's team rush to the rescue, only for Kong to grab their HEAV on their way out, crushing it in his hand despite Maia's attempts to shoot him in order to escape. After peeking inside to make sure Jia, Ilene, and Nathan aren't in there, Kong immediately crushes the aircraft in his hand, killing Maia and her team on board.

Both Kong and Godzilla regain their feeting, with Godzilla on the lookout for Kong, who hides from the Titan by perching atop a tower. Kong throws a construction crane into a building, distracting Godzilla to the point where he ambushes him from above and attempts to strangle him, only for Godzilla to break free and unleash his full fury on Kong, dislocating his left arm, slashing Kong with his claws, and even stomping on his chest twice, despite Kong's attempts to force Godzilla off of him by punching his injured thigh. With Kong beaten and held down, Godzilla roars ferociously at his adversary in a display of superiority, while Kong, defeated, passionately roars back in defiance of Godzilla.

Walter orders Ren to send Mechagodzilla to Apex HQ to destroy Godzilla. Despite Ren's warnings not to use the new Hollow Earth energy source without testing, the mecha is activated. Bernie, Madison, and Josh are also apprehended by security guards and brought to Walter. While Walter denies stirring Godzilla's war and causing the whole situation, Madison accuses him of admitting responsibility for allowing mankind to face Godzilla and the Titans.

Due to the impact of both the energy source and Ghidorah's brain networks, which Walter is unaware of while monologuing about his invention, the robot Mechagodzilla goes berserk, murdering Walter with a sweep of its palm and electrocuting Ren. Because of Ghidorah's brainwashing, the newly mutated Mechagodzilla escapes the Apex facility under Victoria Peak Mountain and destroys the city before Godzilla has a chance to deal with it in person. The two monsters quickly come face to face, and Mechagodzilla unleashes a volley of missiles at Godzilla before the fight begins.

Godzilla, despite having already become tired from his previous fight against Kong, and Mechagodzilla battle, at one point both firing their energy beams at one other which lock together, only for Mechagodzilla to get the upper hand and push Godzilla down and burn him. Nathan, Ilene, and Jia approach an unconscious Kong, where Jia notices that his heartbeat is slowing down. While Mechagodzilla proceeds to overrun and severely beat Godzilla, the others approach an unconscious Kong. In response, Ilene explains that they are unable to generate a charge large enough to restart Kong's heart. However, remembering what Maia said earlier about the HEAVs producing a charge large enough to power Las Vegas for a week, Nathan flies the remaining HEAV onto Kong's chest and sets it to self-destruct, detonating the craft and unleashing a massive electrical charge that instantly revives Kong.

As Mechagodzilla prepares to fire its crimson energy beam into Godzilla's throat, Kong jumps atop the robot and deflect the beam into the air, sparing Godzilla's life in the process. Realizing that Kong saved his life and sensing an ally in him upon seeing that he is not an enemy, Godzilla helps Kong fight against Mechagodzilla.

Later on, Monarch constructed an observation post in the Hollow Earth. Kong is seen by Ilene, Nathan, and Jia on his morning walk. Kong climbs atop a rock, banging his chest and embracing Jia as his new home and realm in his screaming proclamation of himself as King of the Hollow Earth.
